AWIS-San Diego Scholarship Program 2024-2025

The AWIS-San Diego Scholarship Program encourages and rewards outstanding students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields at San Diego colleges and universities.

The Scholarship Program, now in its 25th year, annually supports community college, undergraduate, and graduate students in San Diego County pursuing degrees in STEM fields where women are underrepresented. Scholarship funds help support their research projects and/or assist with additional educational expenses. The fields of study of previous AWIS-SD Scholars include biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, and experimental psychology. Each AWIS-SD Scholar receives a $1000 Scholarship Award.

Eligibility

Students actively engaged in a degree program in the 2024-2025 academic year may apply. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 from their current institution, be enrolled in an accredited college or university in San Diego County, and demonstrate a commitment to advancing the equitable participation of women in STEM.

Deadline

All the application materials must be submitted by Friday, March 25, 2025.

Applicants will receive an email confirming submission of a completed application after all materials have been received (ie initial application and the two letters of recommendation).
